Ibnu Abbas, born in Meulaboh, West Aceh District, Province of Aceh, Indonesia,  on March 28, 1962. He graduated from Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University. And Master of Science  in Construction Management from Faculty of Civil Engineering, The University of Technology Malaysia.  

Ibnu Abbas is a senior lecturer at Construction Engineering and Management Division, Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University with area of expertise i e: Construction Management; Project Management; Occupational Health and Safety in Construction; Quality Management System; Procurement Management; Construction Business Management; Construction Technology; Infrastructure Asset Management; Enviromental Impact Assessemt; Feasibility Study of Infrastructure Project; Construction Contract; and Dispute Resolution of  Construction Project.

Ibnu Abbas is currently as a Laboratory Head of Geodetic dan Geographical Information System since 2015. Previously assigned  as a Laboratory Head of  Computation (2013-2014), and Laboratory Head of Construction Engineering and Management (2010-2012).

Ibnu Abbas also as asessors of BNSP (National Agency of Profession Certification) and  LPJK (National Construction Services Development Board). And as National Instructor/Trainer on Construction Skill Training.
