Academic Profile

Obtained the highest academic qualification in Russia, where my research focused on physiology, with particular emphasis on thermoreceptors investigated through the application of infrared thermography-reflects a rigorous integration of physiological mechanisms, anthropology, climatology, with advanced imaging technologies.

Interest in scientific instrumentation and interdisciplinary approaches which established during my master’s studies (2008) in University of Indonesia. During this period, I developed technical competence in a range of analytical and characterization tools, including X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Vickers hardness testing, and Scanning Electron Microscopy coupled with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM/EDX). These experiences shaped my long-term research interest in the nanostructure of hard tissues, including enamel, dentin, cementum, and bone. And this was shared with specialist dental students in Türkiye in 2014. Then I continued my interest in nanostructures and received a research scholarship in the United States in 2015. However, limited access to advanced instrumentation has posed a significant challenge in further advancing this line of research. 

Since 2020, actively pioneering forensic research initiatives at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala. My work in this field includes the development of identification methods based on lip prints (cheiloscopy) and palatal rugae (rugoscopy), contributing to the growing domain of forensic odontology .

Looking forward, I aim to re-establish and expand my multidisciplinary research trajectory, with a particular focus on the integration of medical sciences within the broader framework of One Health—an area that remains underexplored within FKG USK.
