Akhyar was born in Banda Aceh. He received a Bachelor Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia in 2010. In 2013, He got a scholarship from The Ministry of Research and Higher Education for a young lecturer program and obtained a master's degree program in Information Technology from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He joined Syiah Kuala University in March 2019. He was previously a Lecturer at Serambi Mekkah University and Universitas Ubudiyah Indonesia in Banda Aceh, Indonesia from 2018 to 2019. His research interests include information technology, computer vision, and IoT.
