Tentang Saya (About Me)

I was born in Banda Aceh on October 13th. I completed my undergraduate education in Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP) 10 November Institute of Technology - Surabaya in 1995. Then continued my Masters in Magister Teknik Sipil (MTS) at Universitas Syiah Kuala in the field of structural engineering and construction, and doctoral education at the Doktor Ilmu Teknik (DIT) Postgraduate Program, Universitas Syiah Kuala. I have been a lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Syiah Kuala since 1999 until now. I love studying everything related to vernacular architecture, especially how they adapt to their environment, and admiring the way our ancestors built their homes. I believe that the concepts and principles of vernacular architectural design are still relevant to be applied by using today's construction materials and technologies as contemporary energy-efficient architecture.
