Professional Summary
Prof. Erwin is an academic and veterinary surgeon affiliated with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (drh) degree from Syiah Kuala University in 2008 before pursuing a Master’s degree in Veterinary Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada under the BPPDN Scholarship Program.
Since December 2008, he has been serving as an academic staff member at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala, particularly in the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology. His academic career has been strongly dedicated to veterinary surgery, diagnostic imaging, and the advancement of clinical veterinary education in Indonesia.
In 2016, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, IPB University, supported by the BPPDN 2013 Scholarship Program from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Indonesia. His doctoral and research activities have contributed to the development of veterinary surgical sciences, particularly in soft tissue reconstruction and biomaterial applications.
Prof. Erwin’s research interests include veterinary soft tissue surgery, reconstructive techniques using skin flaps and skin grafts, diagnostic imaging, wound healing, regenerative approaches, and orthopedic implant biomaterials. He is also actively involved in academic leadership, curriculum development, and professional advancement in veterinary education.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, he currently serves in academic leadership at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, and contributes to the development of veterinary professional standards and higher education in Indonesia through his involvement in national veterinary academic organizations.
