Evalina is a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Syiah Kuala whose academic background combines architecture, urban and regional planning, and built environment studies. She obtained a bachelor's degree in architecture from Universitas Syiah Kuala in 2004 and a master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of South Australia in 2009. At the doctoral level, she pursued interdisciplinary studies in two countries through the Doctor of Engineering program at Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia, and a PhD in Built Environment at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, from 2019 to 2023. Evalina’s research interests include disaster-resilient planning, coastal community resilience, tsunami preparedness, gender-responsive disaster mitigation, socio-spatial planning, and sustainable urban and regional development. She is also actively involved in community engagement programs and interdisciplinary research integrating spatial planning, local culture, and built environment approaches toward resilient and sustainable communities.
