Faisal A. Rani, was born in Gampong Empetring, Aceh Besar, on August 15th, 1959. His parents are A. Rani Usman, a teacher at Religious Education School (SGHA) of Yokjakarta. The father who is a retirement of civil servant teacher at the State of Religious Education Teacher (PGAN) Banda Aceh has served as a Priest of Gampong Empetring Priest. A mother, Razian Umar, is a very nice housewife, both from the eyes of her children and the community. She is very hospitable. He is active in various social activities. I have eight siblings; they are Dra. Rusnaini A. Rani, Dra. Nur Azimah A. Rani, Mohd. Taufiq A. Rani, A.Md., Dra. Kartini A. Rani, Dr. Ir. Muh. Sayuthi A. Rani, M.Si., Hastuti A. Rani, and Mohd. Isra Fahlevi A. Rani, A.Md.

Faisal A. Rani had his basic education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Bilui, Aceh Besar, in 1972, then a junior high school at PGAN 4 Years Banda Aceh, at MTsN level, which then continued on PGAN 6 Years Banda Aceh, graduated in 1979. Simultaneously with that, also attended Iskandar Muda High School as an afternoon school, which also graduated in the same year, 1979. Then in 1979 joined the entrance test of state universities, and accepted at the Faculty of Law of Syiah Kuala University, graduated in 1985 with the concentration of Law Constitution.







Faisal A. Rani, in 1987 participated in a civil servant lecturer at Syiah Kuala University and graduated, was appointed as a Candidate of civil servants in 1987. In the year continued his doctoral education at Padjadjaran University Postgraduate Program, graduated in 1995. In 1996, he recommended to do a supervising team on S-2, continuing education to doctoral level. My supervisor, Prof. Dr. Sri Soemantri Mertokoesoemo, Prof. Dr. Bagir Manan, S.H., M.C.L., And Prof. Dr. Ateng Sjafruddin, conveying their agreement to be a promoter if they continue their doctoral education. Alhamdulillah doctoral education I can finish in February 2002.







After completing of studying in 2002, Faisal A. Rani has been active in various activities assisting Local Government, becoming a specialist in Aceh Bappeda, Expert Team of Local Government of Aceh Darussalam, Expert on Legislation Agency of DPRA, and becoming Expert Staff of Aceh Governor, when expert staff has not been a structural position in the Aceh Government.

Since becoming a lecturer at FH Unsyiah until now I teach in undergraduate program, in subject Introduction to Law Science, State Science, Constitutional Law, State Administration Law, Constitutional Law, Local Government Law, and Law Philosophy. In Strata 2 Program teaches in Philosophy of Science courses, Methodology Research of Law and Philosophy of Law, and on Program Strata 3 teach Philosophy of Law.

Faisal A. Rani, on 1August 2010 was appointed as the Professor in Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law of Syiah Kuala University. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Chairman of the State Administrative Law at FH Unsyiah, from 2009 until 2013 as Vice Dean I Academic Affair, and from 2013 until March 2017 as the Dean of Faculty of Law of Syiah Kuala University.
