Gamal Batara is a lecturer and researcher at Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala. He holds a bachelor degree (Sarjana Ekonomi) from Universitas Syiah Kuala, graduated in 2015, and a master degree (Magister Akuntansi) from Universitas Indonesia, graduated in 2018. Before starting his academic career, Gamal was an associate at Deloitte Indonesia, in which he had two years of IT audit experiences in financial audit engagements. Besides his main role as an IT auditor, he also had been involved in third party assurance engagements (ISAE), personal data protection / data privacy projects, and cybersecurity maturity assessment. As a scholar, his research area of interests include audit/assurance, and accounting information system.
