Ibnu Rusydy was born in Pidie, Aceh Provinces-Indonesia. He obtained a bachelor degree in Physics (Geophysics) from Syiah Kuala University in 2006. He worked in Bureau of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction for Aceh – Nias from 2006 to 2008. This Bureau was a national representative to build back Aceh province and Nias Island after Indian Ocean Tsunami 2004. In 2009, he continued his study and obtained Master of Science (M.Sc) from National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia – UKM) in Engineering Geology and graduated in 2011. After graduated from Engineering Geology, He returned to Aceh, Indonesia and started his career as staff and researcher at Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center of Syiah Kuala University. He also plays a rule  as lecturer at Geological Engineering Department Syiah Kuala University. In 2012, he published his website https://www.ibnurusydy.com to disseminate disaster knowledge to all Indonesia people around the world. In past seven years, he has written more 100 articles and posted on his website and wrote more than thirty scientific articles published in journal and proceeding. Now he is a PhD Candidate in Geomechanic at UNSW Sydney, Australia. His research interests are rock engineering, earthquake engineering, geological hazard mapping, geodata science, and Sub-surface investigation for the geotechnical purpose.
