Bekerja di Universitas Syiah Kuala sejak 1995. Lulus Sarjana Teknologi Hasil Pertanian dari Institut Pertanian Bogor tahun 1998. Master dan pendidikan doktor diselesaikan pada tahun 2000 dan 2005 di Georg-August University of Goettingen, Jerman dalam bidang pengolahan hasil pertanian.Penelitian yang ditekuni yaitu pada rekayasa pangan, pascapanen hortikultura dan senyawa sekunder yang terkandung di dalamnya. Penelitian saat ini adalah mengenai teknologi pasca panen jernang (Daemonorops sp.) dan pembuatan minuman berbasis vinegar dari produk hortikultura lokal. Pengalaman profesional diperoleh dari Badan Pangan dan Pertanian, PBB selama 7 tahun sebagai konsultan monev dan operasional pada 2005 - 2012. Dia juga menjadi trainer monev di Unsyiah - Pusbindiklatren Bappenas sejak 2013. Pada tahun 2012-2014 menjadi wakil ketua dan mulai 2015 menjadi Ketua Satuan Jaminan Mutu di Program Pascasarjana Universitas Syiah Kuala. Mulai tahun 2016 menjabat sebagai Ketua Program Studi Teknologi Hasil Pertanian.

Mr. Sulaiman has been working at Syiah Kuala University since 1995. He finalized his bachelor degree at from Bogor Agriculture University in 1993. His master and doctoral degree was completed in 2000 and 2005 at Georg-August University of Goettingen Germany in agricultural processing technology. His research focused in the area of food engineering, postharvest technology and secondary plant products. The current researches are about the postharvest technology of jernang (Daemonorops sp.) and the production of drink vinegar from various local horticultural products. His professional experiences are gained by working in the area of monitoring and evaluation. He worked for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as monitoring and evaluation as well as operation consultant for 7 years 2005 – 2012. He is also trainer for monitoring and evaluation since 2013 in Unsyiah - Pusbindiklatren Bappenas and various governmental organization. He was also as a chair person at the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture in 2008 – 2011 and at Graduate School in 2012-2015. Since 2016, he is appointed chairing the study program of Agricultural Products Technology.
