My name is Muhammad Ilhamsyah Siregar. I studied economics majoring in monetary economics in Syiah Kuala University in 1996-2000 and studied public economics and policies in Georgia State University, USA in 2001-2002. I started to teach at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University in 2002.
I teach different subjects in the University, ranging from basic economics, such as Introduction to Microeconomics, to quantitative economics subjects such as Mathematics for Economics, Applied Calculus, Econometrics and Time Series Analysis.
In the last few years, I have conducted several researches in the field of economics, which incorporated different economics focues, such as incorporating public economics and urban economics, and public economics and human resources economics. I studied post tsunami demand for houses in Banda Aceh. I also studied the housing demand for low income earner in Banda Aceh. I also conducted researches on gender and economic development.
