Laina Farsiah is a young lecturer in the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Syiah Kuala University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the same university, specializing in the field of Data Mining. Subsequently, she pursued her Master's degree in the Department of Computer Science at the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
In addition to her academic role, Laina serves as an Instructor of Big Data using Python in the Fresh Graduate Academy (FGA) program under the Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS), organized annually by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Her scholarly pursuits revolve around the domains of Data Mining, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Sentiment Analysis, and Speech Recognition.
Currently, Laina is involved in teaching various courses, including Data Mining, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Programming Language, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Data Visualization. Additionally, she assumes the responsibility of overseeing student activities as a mentor in the Department of Informatics.
