Mahdi Syukri was born in Panyabungan Jae Village, Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province on December 10, 1968. Graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of North Sumatra (USU) in 1997. In 2003 he completed his studies in the Program Postgraduate Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, with a concentration in Electrical Engineering. In 1998 until now, he was appointed as a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Syiah Kuala University. During that time he served as Chair of the Electric Power Systems Laboratory and Chair in the Field of Electric Energy. He currently serves as the Coordinator of the D3 Study Program in Electrical Engineering under the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Some courses that are taught in the S1 Electrical Engineering Study Program are Introduction to the Analysis of Circuits, Electric Circuits, Electromagnetic Fields and Electrical Machines. Introduction to Circuit Analysis courses study matters related to electrical circuits such as DC voltage sources, DC current sources, and some load on the electrical circuit in the form of resistors, inductors or capacitors. Electric Circuit course is almost the same as Introduction to Electric Circuit, the difference is the source of voltage in the Electric Circuit course in the form of an AC voltage source and an AC current source. Electromagnetic Field courses study, among others, electric and magnetic fields caused by electric charges. Electrical Machines study matters related to Electrical Machines including synchronous machines, asynchronous machines, and transformers. While the courses that are taught in the D3 Study Program in Electrical Engineering are Electric Circuit 1, Electric Circuit 2, Electric Machines 1 and Electric Machines 2.
