Tentang Saya (About Me)
I have been as faculty member of Chemical Engineering Department, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) since 1992. My first degree is Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, Surabaya. I received PhD degree from School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham (UK) in 1998. My current research focus on development of catalysts and reaction systems for direct conversion of oily biomass (palm fruit and algae) to biodiesel, monolithic multi-phase reactors, and biomass utilization. Application of microwave in the chemical reactions is also my great interest. I also involved in higher education quality assurance since I was appointed as board member of National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education 2006-2012. I have ever served some management posts, i.e. Head of Chemical Engineering Department (2004-2008), Dean of Engineering Faculty (2009-2013), Head of the Office of Education Development and Quality Assurance, Syiah Kuala University (2016-2018) and Vice Rector for Academic Affair, Syiah Kuala University (2018-2022). Rightnow, my position is Rector of Universitas Syiah Kuala (2022-2026).
