Prof. Mudatsir a lecturer at the Department Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine Syiah Kuala University, He is completed his BA (Drs) at Syiah Kuala University in 1991, then continued his Master Degree on Microbiology of Basic Medical from 1994-1997 and obtained a degree M.MSc (M.Kes) from Postgraduate Padjadjaran University, Bandung The title of he thesis is the Use of Multiple Media for Isolation and Identification of Streptococcus faecalis and its Sensitivity Pattern against Some Antibiotics. In 2002, he continued his Doctoral Program on Molecular Microbiology at the Universitas Airlangga University Surabaya and obtained  PhD (Dr) in 2006. In 2009 he got a chance to attend Summer School in Germany with DAAD scholarship and in 2014 also got the opportunity to follow Overseas Non Degree Training (ONDT) at World Bank costs through the HPEQ (Health Professional Education Quality Program) at Songkla University, Thailand. Mudatsir has published more than 69 scientific articles in reputable international journals. He is the  World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists 2022-2025 by Stanford University and Elsevier.  His field of interests are infectious diseases, molecular epidemiology, genetics, molecular medicine and molecular biology. He is actively write in various journals, both national and international journals. He is also active in scientific meetings as speakers
