Saddam Rassanjani was born on November 12, 1990, in Pidie, but spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Banda Aceh. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Government Studies from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, graduating in 2013. Driven by a passion for public service and governance, Saddam secured a prestigious scholarship from LPDP RI to further his studies at the University of Glasgow. There, he majored in Public Policy and Management, earning his Master of Science degree in 2017 after just one year of rigorous study. In 2019, Saddam embarked on an academic career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, specializing in Government Studies. His role as an educator is complemented by his active involvement in the management of national-level academic journals, where he serves as both an editor and a reviewer. This involvement not only underscores his commitment to advancing academic standards but also highlights his dedication to fostering a culture of rigorous scholarly inquiry. Saddam’s academic and professional interests are deeply intertwined with global development initiatives, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His engagement with these goals reflects a broader commitment to addressing and resolving critical global issues through informed policy-making and governance. Currently, Saddam is pursuing his Ph.D. in Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde, also funded by the LPDP scholarship. His research continues to focus on the intersections of public policy, social welfare, and sustainable development.
