Professional Summary

Sofyan M. Saleh Was born in Bies Takengon May 12, 1959. Elementary School to Senior High School he finished at his hometown Takengon. He finished his Bachelor (S1) from Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University (UNSYIAH) in 1985. Since 1987 he joined as faculty member in the same Department. In 1993 he graduated from The Institute of Road, Transport and Town Planning, The Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen with a scholarship from World Bank XXI. 1996-2000 was appointed as chairman of the Transportation Laboratory at Faculty of Engineering UNSYIAH. 2000-2004 He was trusted to be the head of Civil Engineering Department at the same University. In 2009, he obtained his Doctoral Degree from ITB Bandung focused on the Multimodal Transportation System Policy to Reduce Road Damage Due to Overloading Trucks. From 2010 -2013 again trusted as Chairman of Transportation Studies both in Bachelor Program (S1) and Master Program of Civil Engineering (S2), Graduate School UNSYIAH. From December 2013 until December 2016 he was trusted as Vice Dean for Planning and Cooperation Faculty of Engineering UNSYIAH. Since January 2017 He is appointed as Head of Magister of Civil Engineering Study Program in the same Faculty at UNSYIAH. Since August 1, 2019 He become a Professor in Civil Engineering and focussed of research is in Highway Engineering and Transportation System field study.
