Sri Walny Rahayu is a Professor of Business Law, specializing in Consumer Protection Law, at the Faculty of Law, Syiah Kuala University (FH USK), Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia. She has been serving as a permanent lecturer in Private Law at the Faculty of Law, Syiah Kuala University since, March, 01, 1994.

Currently, for the 2021–2026 term, she holds the position of Vice Dean for Resources and Finance at the Faculty of Law. She also teaches in the Master of Notary Program (MKn) at the Faculty of Law, USK.

In 1993, she completed her undergraduate legal education at the Faculty of Law, USK, majoring in Commercial Law, with a thesis entitled “A Legal Review of Public Telecommunications Companies Transforming into PT. Persero Telkom Indonesia.” In 2000, she obtained her Master’s degree (M.Hum) in Business Law from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University (FH UNPAD), Bandung. Her master’s thesis focused on Intellectual Property Rights and was entitled “Protection of the Economic Rights of Music and Song Composers in Indonesia Based on Law Number 12 of 1997 concerning the TRIPs-WTO Agreement.”

She earned her Doctorate in Law (Business Law) from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, Bandung, in 2014. Her dissertation, entitled “Settlement of Maritime Business Disputes Related to the Panglima Laot Indigenous Community as an Effort to Develop Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Indonesian Legal System,” reflects her strong interest in dispute resolution and customary law.

Throughout her academic career, she has held several key administrative positions, including Head of the Unsyiah Gender Study Center (2004–2010), Secretary of the Faculty Quality Assurance Unit (SJMF) (2014–2015), Secretary of the Master of Notary Study Program (2016–2017), and Chair of the Faculty Senate of the Faculty of Law, USK (April 2018–June 2021).

Her research and scholarly contributions include journal articles, books, and conference papers. She is also actively engaged as a national and international speaker, with expertise in Business Law, particularly Consumer Protection Law, Intellectual Property Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Customary Law, and Gender Studies.
