Prof. Dr. IR. Sufardi, M.S., was born in Aceh Besar on 17 November 1962. Education Story: Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) finished in 1974 (Aceh Besar), MtsN Montasik finished in 1978 (Aceh Besar), and SMA  Montasik in 1981 (Aceh Besar).  In 1981, He continued his studies at the Agricultural Faculty of Syiah Kuala University and passed 1986. After graduating he accepted as lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture University in 1987 and 1988 continued his study at Postgraduate Faculty of Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta and graduated in 1990. In 1996 continued his study at Doctoral Programme of Padjadjaran University, Bandung and graduated with cumlaude in 1999. Besides being a lecturer at the Faculty of agriculture, he also served as Head of Soil Science Study Program (2001-2004), Head of Master's Program of Land Resource Conservation (2006-2008), Dean of Agriculture Faculty of Syiah Kuala University (2007-2011), Head of Doctor Program of Agricultural Science, Postgraduate Program, Syiah Kuala University (2013-2021). He was also the Head of Soil Chemistry Laboratory (2002-2008) and Laboratory of Soil and Plant Research of Syiah Kuala University from 2013 to 2021. International cooperation has been involved include: Program Asialink ACULTURA (2006-2008) involving five Universities (Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh-Indonesia, Tadulako University Palu-Indonesia, Humboltz University Berlin-Germany, Hohenheim University Stuttgart-Germany, BOKU University Austria), Prince of Songkla University Thailand (2009-2010), Research Colaboration with ACIAR Australia Project I (2009-2013) and ACIAR Project SMCN 2012/103 (2013-2018).
