Banta Chairullah was born in Samalanga Aceh Utara on August 15, 1960. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University in 1985. In 1989 he continued The Magister Degree Program in "Department of Civil Engineering and Surveying - University of Hannover Germany" and get Magister of Civil Engineering in 1991 in the field of Geotechnical Science Expertise. Since 1986 he has been appointed Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering University of Syiah Kuala and actively teaches in several courses in Geotechnical Engineering like as Soil Mechanics, Foundation Technique, Soil Stabilization and Ground Reinforcement, and Geotechnical Design.
