Professional Summary
Wiwit is an assistant professor at Biology Education Department, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Aceh, Indonesia. She is also a researcher at Research center for social and cultural studies (PRISB) and STEM research center of USK. She was awarded Bachelor degree in Biology from Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia in 2005; Master of Education from University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2006; and Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Arkansas, AR, USA in 2018. She was also a visiting scholar of the Oberlin Shansi program at Oberlin College, Ohio, USA in 2010. To improve her knowledge and skills, she has completed several short courses from Civil Ecology Lab, Cornell University in Environmental-STEM Education (2020) and Nature Education (2022). She was awarded and completed the Microcredential Programme in Curriculum by HY+ University of Helsinki and the Ministry of Education of Indonesia in 2022. In terms of teaching, she has taught several courses including Basic Curriculum and Instruction, Analysis of International Study Results, Case Studies and Innovation in Biology Learning, STEM Biology, and Advanced Biology Curriculum Study for Secondary School. She is interested in Gifted and Talented classroom, the environmental education curriculum and how STEM approaches could involve shaping students' knowledge and skills in solving environmental problems. Besides STEM Education and Environmental Education areas, she also did several researches in microbiology.
