Dr. Yunardi received his Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh Indonesia. Upon the completion of his Bachelor Degree, he started his career as a junior lecturer at the same institution where he graduated from. He continued his further study in Biochemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada where he was awarded a master degree. He obtained his doctoral degree focusing on combustion modelling from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
During his tenure as a lecturer, he taught at the Chemical Engineering Department of Syiah Kuala University at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. In addition, he has experienced as a visiting scholar and researcher at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo Japan, University of Kentucky Lexington, USA, University of Leeds, United Kingdom, Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey. He has published one book and a number of papers at international journals as well as presented papers at various national and international conferences. During the period of 2012 to 2016, he temporarily left his academic job to serve as the Education and Culture Attache at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok, Thailand. His research interest is mainly in the area of computational fluid dynamics, particularly in combustion and environmental engineering modelling.
