Zainabun was born in Medan on December 7th, 1959. She graduated from the Soil Science Program Department of Agricultural Sciences Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University (1984). In 1991, she completed her study in the master program of Soil Science Faculty of Bogor Agricultural University Faculty of Postgraduate with title of thesis: characteristic, pedogenesys, and Classification of with Low Activity Clay. In 1985 until now appointed as a permanent lecture of Agriculture Faculty of Syiah Kuala University with NIP. 195912071985032002. In the year 2000-2004 had served as head of the Laboratory of Geology, Mineralogy and Soil Classification. In the Year 2004-2008 had served as Chairman of Soil Departement and contineued in 2008-2012, in 2012 until last 2016 served as chairman of the Field of Interest Management of Land Resources (PSDL) Agrotechnology as achairman program Faculty of Agriculture department, Syiah Kuala University. Until January 2017 come to a Chairman of Laboratory Geology, Mineralogy and Soil Clasification on the Soil Departement.
